Meet the "Dirty Dozen" -   Key NC Counties Sending Medical Waste to Stericycle

The majority of waste burned in Stericycle's Haw River incinerators come from North Carolina facilities (62% on average). [1]   For the 2007-08 year, facilities in 85 NC counties sent 12,182,051 pounds, or 57.5% of the total.[2]   The top 12 counties earned "Dirty Dozen" status as the chart shows:
