  • Ask your health care providers to consider using non-incineration technologies for their medical waste. Suggest they look here for resources: http://bredl-medwaste.org/hospitals-resources.htm
  • Attend upcoming BREDL meetings on Stericycle. Call Sue Dayton at the BREDL Office (336) 525-2003 or Write to us at info@bredl-medwaste.org
  • Sponsor a presentation about the potential health risks associated with Stericycle’s Haw River medical waste incinerators and what can be done.
  • Tell Stericycle to stop burning medical waste in North Carolina. Urge them to convert to non-incineration alternatives as they have done in other communities. Write to:

  • Call the NC Division of Air Quality immediately (336) 771-5000 if you see dark smoke or smell odors coming from the Stericycle's incinerators. Keep a record of your call. Inform BREDL.
